The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoH&UA) on July 03, 2026, notified the Ladakh Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Amendment Rules, 2026 to amend the Ladakh Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Rules, 2020.
The following has been stated:-
•The amendment omits the provision prescribing a penalty of 10% of the estimated cost of the plot, apartment, or building for offences punishable with imprisonment under section 68.
•As a result, this specific monetary penalty is no longer provided under Rule 33(1) of the Ladakh Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Rules, 2020.
They shall come into force on July 03, 2026.
